Our mission

We exist to make cybersecurity, Windows, privacy, and AI-related topics understandable to non-technical readers, using clear language and advice that's genuinely actionable — not padded, and not designed to alarm readers.

How we choose topics

We prioritize topics that affect a large number of everyday users, come up frequently in real-world questions, or address common misconceptions in how people think about technology and security.

How we research and write

• Articles are written by team members with direct experience in the relevant subject area.
• We favor established, mainstream best practices over speculative or unverified techniques.
• Where it strengthens accuracy, we reference trusted public organizations such as Microsoft, Google, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
• We avoid unnecessary technical jargon, and explain necessary technical terms in plain language on first use.
• We do not use scare tactics or exaggerate risk to drive engagement. Where a risk is genuinely serious, we say so plainly; where it's minor, we say that too.

Corrections and updates

Technology and security guidance change quickly. Each article displays a "Published" and "Updated" date so readers can see how current the content is. When we become aware of outdated or inaccurate information, we correct it and update the "Updated" date accordingly.

Independence and affiliations

GuardLG is an independent publication. We are not owned by, and do not receive editorial direction from, any software company, security vendor, or hardware manufacturer mentioned in our content. Product references are made for descriptive and educational purposes only, as detailed in our Disclaimer.

Advertising and editorial separation

Where the Site displays third-party advertising served in compliance with Google's Publisher Policies, ad placement and content are handled separately from editorial decisions. Advertisements do not influence which topics we cover or what we say about them.
